This 50 minute program will serve as an overview of inland marine claims in the field of motor carriage. Some claims are part of interstate movement while others are within the State of Florida. The Carmack Amendment is for interstate shipments. If the movement of cargo is part of an international shipment under a thru bill of lading, then the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act could govern the shipment. For claims that simply move within the State of Florida, state law will apply including the Uniform Commercial Code.
